Liberty House
Liberty
House is the latest flexible workspace from The Office Group and SODA Studio -
located next door to the world-famous Liberty department store in London’s West
End. Drawing inspiration from the history and retail aesthetic of the area, colour,
patterns and sculpted forms are used to reference both the high-end Regents
Street and the more extravagant Carnaby Street. SODA utilised their 360º design
approach across architecture, interiors and branding on this grand project.
All the workspaces from
The Office Group have their own distinct identity, which is often linked to
their location. The relationship with the Liberty’s department store was the
starting point for both the graphic identity and the interior concept; Liberty
prints inspired the colour palette, while the mock-Tudor building inspired the
retail aesthetic, as well as crafted objects positioned through the scheme. The
SODA graphics team used the Liberty logo as a starting point to then generate a
pattern, which features in the branding and surfaces within the scheme,
including worktops and paneling. Many of the physical interventions, such as doors
and reception desks, have been given a scalloped texture to echo the fabrics
and textiles sold next door.
