Green Rooms

This prominent Art Deco building in north London was transformed into the UK’s first social enterprise hotel. The project, backed by the Greater London Authority and Haringey Council, provides artists visiting and working in London with affordable living and studio space, whilst creating a much-needed community hub for Wood Green.

The ground floor is converted into a public café, bar and restaurant space, with a newly created outdoor social space and we refurbished the first and second floors to provide twenty unique hotel rooms. Each space features minimal detailing and a stripped-back aesthetic, carefully designed to accentuate the building’s innate Art Deco features. The rear of the building houses long stay, mezzanine appartments and communal dormitories for larger groups.

On the top floor of the building we uncovered and revived the original stained-glass rooflights and installed a bespoke, hand-crafted bar to create a stunning events and exhibition space.
