On our shelf: ‘Sottsass’
Ettore Sottsass was an Italian architect and designer, whose eccentric body of work still influences people across the creative industries today.
The latest book to publish his works, Sottsass by Philippe Thomé, is a comprehensive exploration of Sottsass’ life and work. The use of different paper stocks, sizes and colours condense a lifetime of information into an informative and exciting read. It uses a ‘message as medium’ approach to book design, which brings to life Sottsass’ vibrancy and tactility, whilst making the mass of information easier to digest.
We particularly like the insert pages that highlight some of Sottsass’ most iconic patterns, like colourful drop-pins in his eclectic and wide-ranging history.
