Life & Soul: Noriko Rudd

Our Life & Soul series showcases the people who live, work and bring to life the spaces we’ve designed. We sat down with some of these lovely people to chat about their experiences in SODA spaces.

Next in the series is Noriko Rudd – resident at Gatehouse Close.

“I’ve lived in Gatehouse Close with my family for the past 7 years. When we moved in it was a very old-fashioned house and we wanted something contemporary to match our modern lifestyles. My children were small at the time and I do a lot of cooking, so I needed an open plan space where I could see my children whilst I cook.

No matter what we’re doing – the children and their homework, me cooking, my husband reading the newspaper – it’s all in one space. The new house has created an environment where we feel very close, even when doing separate activities! We really enjoy the careful simplicity in the design and the use of good quality materials throughout. I always feel very relaxed when I’m at home.”
