SITES – Where Things Come Together
When visiting projects where we are renovating existing building such as Kettner’s Townhouse and The Silver Building we are confronted with materials that come together in unanticipated ways. Often haphazard and unassuming these moments create new understandings of materials and their potential to shift, frame and interlock.
This set of photographs explores where materials start, end and meet. They highlight architecture’s ability to juxtapose textures to create new languages and means of expression. In our projects we use these moments to trace a buildings history so users can understand a little bit of our world in the present, a space where things come together.
